Comfortable armchair with a slightly higher back. The wood has been sanded and provided with new varnish and the seat and back have new foam and new upholstery of Polyester. Comfortable and very solid chair that can last a lifetime.

TON originates from the better known Thonet because the German-Austrian Michael Thonet started his furniture company in the 19th century in Vienna. And Vienna was then, together with Budapest, the double capital of the Habsburg empire. And the necessary beech wood was abundantly available in Czechoslovakia, which also belonged to the Habsburg empire. After WWII, the then Czechoslovak communist government nationalized all companies in the country and TON was born, which still exists today and produces furniture.

This model no. 947 won the design prize at the first world exhibition since WWII, Expo '58.
