Vintage wall unit - Kai Kristiansen - 1960s

This wall system consists of 8 bookshelves measuring 85cm wide x 24cm deep. Furthermore, a desk shelf with two drawers.

1 cabinet with frosted glass measuring 85cm wide x 40cm high x 40cm deep and 1 cabinet with sliding doors measuring 85cm wide x 50cm high x 40cm deep. In the photos, you can view the interior layout with compartments, drawers, and shelves.

And 3 wall rails of 180cm. The rails are attached to the wall with screws. The cabinets and shelves have iron hooks on the back, allowing them to be hung in the recesses of the rails. It is very well designed, as all shelves and cabinets hang stably and securely. Moreover, it is very easy to adjust the composition to your liking.

The entire set is in very good condition with only minor scratches. Everything has been cleaned, oiled, and is ready for use.

The Danish designer Kai Kristiansen (1929-2023) opened his own studio at the age of 26, working in the Danish modern style, preferably with beautifully combined teak and rosewood materials. His modular FM Reolsystem, which he designed in 1957 for Feldballe Møbelfabrik, became a worldwide success, just like Poul Cadovius's system.
